Time off work is always fun, but I think I prefer summer time off. In the winter, this is boring. People actually can update their blogs, that's what happens. Maybe I'll demo a room in the house. Which room have I not reno'd yet... mmmm.. the laundry room. That sounds like a good project. I'll keep you updated.

I know, I know
I know, I know. Its been a long time since my last blog.
But I've had a hard time finding the time to take the pictures to post.
What's been chewing up my time... well work mainly... the house a bit. So here we go. Christmas at the coast, funny that's where I left off. The scenes were green, which is odd for the holidays, but lots of food and lots of family. 6.4 lbs of food evidently. LOL

Sunshine coast shell
On this past weekend we had the great fortune of a 4 day trip out to the sunshine coast. One morning we ventured out to the ocean beach a low tide. What a great time we had! The kids played with star fish and sun fish and many tiny crawling crabs.

We're back
We've safely returned from the Sunshine coast after a fabulous 4 day weekend. I have so many pictures to share and so many stories, but instead I'm here at work. If you're checking in I promise I'll get around to posting some gems this evening. Till then.

What August is gone?
Its hard to believe the cat days of summer are almost gone.
I guess I can tell where the time has gone, but we've landscaped the entire yard, and paved a new driveway over the summer. Not much time for play it seems to have been mostly work. We have one last vacation coming as we head off to the Sunshine coast this weekend. Should have lots of pictures to share after our trip. Until then...

Our lake view these days
I know I've been a bad little blogger, I haven't found the time to write a blog in about 2 weeks. Yikes. I would have to say aside from being very busy at work, we've been very busy in the yard. Turf is arriving Tuesday, we have top soil today and also underground irrigiation installation work over the weekend. I look forward to smothering the dusty clay with nice green grass. The air has been very smokey from a few surrounding forest fires so that doesn't help the air quaility either. Here is a nice picture of our lake view! Cheers.

Sighting of a strange bird
This would be the bird called the Karly Picker~! One a warm summer's evening we went to the water to cool down before bath and bedtime. Both girls had a super time. I also had a super time taking pictures with the smokey glow of the evening light with the forest fires burning in Washington. Its back to the grind of daycare, summer camp and work tomorrow.

Sunday August 6th
While I was out watering my vegetable garden yesterday I noticed that my grapes are starting to turn colors. I snapped a quick shot and thought hey this is cool. I've never had grapes before to watch their colors change. Seems they might be ahead of the season a bit, but I've never had grapes before. Today we are happy to welcome my cousin, her hubby and their baby boy to stay with us for the week. Summer in the Okanagan, its a great thing to share. Well I'd best go put some steaks on the grill and crack open a bottle of wine.

Holiday Day 5
I woke up this morning with the sense that holidays will soon be over and I still have lots to do. Maybe today. Its windy and overall not very nice out. Maybe kite flying would be fun?
Yesterday I had the pleasure of two visits. The first from Robyn and her little man Hayden. They came for a visit and to play pictures and we sure had fun! Turns out Hayden is a super model! Sometimes he was awake then he was asleep... we got some great shots.
Then Sue came over for coffee. We sat on the deck and chatted a bit and she had come to pick up her new canvas wedding prints. There were 2 of them and each canvas was stunning! Truly pieces of art. Sadly I didn't take any pictures of them before I let them go to their new home.

Holidays Day 2
Today was a perfectly good holiday day. No wall paper removal so far... maybe later. But we did have a great family over for coffee and pictures. Things went really well and all 3 kids are adorable. Makes my job so much easier. There is an evening farmers market this evening at the beach I thought we might check it out.

Holidays!
Daycare has decided that she needs a week off. I totally understand. That means that I have to take a week off of work. Great idea! Today was day one so we all slept in a bit, then got up drank some coffee and then set to work peeling wall paper. After we had enough of that we prepared some lunch and set off for the beach in the afternoon. We had a great time and will likely go back tomorrow ~ after our morning photo shoot. I know, life is tough.

Camping gone wrong
We'll we left for camping at 6:30 pm Friday evening and returned by 11:00 that night. When we went to unpack we found the dog had been very cruel with the inside of the camper and there was no way we could stay in there for the weekend. So we returned.

Enjoy the heat.
Yup, its hot. When you go outside the wave of heat rushes over you and if you were cool suddenly you are not. A client once said to me "You know, a person can complain about the cold or they can complain about the heat ~ but not both. Because then you're just a whiner." Good advice I think. Its hot, but yah know what we could have only 3 seasons and what fun would that be? Enjoy the heat.

They're here!
I took a leap and ordered my two first canvas art prints. They arrive safe and sound from California and they are gorgeous! The two sizes are 18 x 24 and 20 x 24 but they look tiny on the big bare walls. I hesitate to hang them up before I've painted but that's probably the best place to keep them. The black and white is the youngest as a six month old and the other canvas is a picture in taken in the back field of the special connection that exists in our family. I'm just thrilled with them. What do you think?

Seeing Double
Yesterday I had the privellege of going to photograph some 2 week old twin girls! Their Mom is on maternity leave from the company I work for at "my day job." Needless to say they were to precious little angels and despite the heat, we had a super time. I am pleased to welcome the girls as my first blog photo.
